Antioxidants

The role of antioxidants is to protect against oxidative stress and free radical damage that occurs both naturally and also through exercise. BULK POWDERS® have chosen the most effective antioxidant supplements available, to give you the greatest protection against oxidative stress.

Throughout life, the body goes through a degree of oxidative stress which, in turn, causes cell damage and can contribute to disease, ageing, diabetes and more. If you’re engaged in an active exercise programme, the very nature of exercise can also increase oxidative damage. Free radicals (which are responsible for tissue damage) are produced in cells and tissues during exercise. The range of antioxidants BULK POWDERS® has been chosen specifically to reduce oxidative stress caused by free radicals.

What’s more exciting is that many of the antioxidants in our range also have other benefits, beyond and above their roles as antioxidants. These benefits range from anti-aging to increasing energy levels!

What Lucy Mecklenburgh (brand ambassador) says: "I think it’s very easy to overlook the importance of vitamins and minerals in your diet. I try to eat a wide variety of foods, lots of greens, fruit and veg. ACTIVE WMN™ is just my way of making sure I’m getting everything I need as a woman, and it’s so convenient too."

WHAT IS MACA POWDER?

BULK POWDERS™ Maca Powder is 100% pure, gluten free, low GI carbohydrate. It has 12g of protein per 100g, including all the essential amino acids and well as containing an abundance of vitamins and minerals. Maca Powder starts life as a root which is then dried and turned into the easy to use powder form. It has been deemed a ‘superfood’ by nutritionists due to the notable nutritional value.

Maca is a low glycaemic index (GI) carbohydrate source, meaning it is digested slowly in the body therefore giving you a continuous release of energy throughout the day.  It is also a complete protein, containing all of the essential amino acids whilst also being a good source of vitamins and minerals. Maca has a rich, slightly sweet, nutty taste which is very popular for use in smoothies, juices or in your favourite protein shake.
